About GITEC and ATARC
The Government Information Technology Executive Council (GITEC) is dedicated to fostering professional development and creating collaborative platforms for the Federal Government, academia, and industry to come together and address emerging technology challenges. Originally established in response to a White House memorandum issued on June 28, 1966, GITEC has provided a unique forum where Senior Level Government and Industry Executives can engage in open dialogue, sharing innovative ideas, overcoming IT challenges, and celebrating successes.
On May 31, 2018, GITEC merged with the Advanced Technology Academic Research Center (ATARC), combining their missions to further enhance collaboration across the public and private sectors. ATARC, a thought leader in emerging technology and research, has worked extensively to bridge the gap between government and industry by creating an environment for thought exchange and technical advancements.
In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, the importance of collaboration across government agencies and sectors is more crucial than ever. By joining forces, GITEC and ATARC offer a united platform for addressing the complex IT challenges facing the nation. Together, they help government agencies leverage collective knowledge, share best practices, and implement innovative solutions that ensure the Federal Government remains agile, effective, and resilient in meeting the ever-changing needs of the country.
