GSA RPA Community of Practice
March 11, 2021, 2:00-3:00 PM EST
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is rapidly approaching the fourth anniversary of the first robot to go into production in the federal government (happy birthday to George Washington robot from the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC)). The adoption of RPA across the government has been nothing short of incredible. As with any new technology, there must be the brave few, as they say in the Department of Defense, that are on the “bleeding edge of the spear.” In the private sector, these are the entrepreneur that is not afraid to fail but when they do they learn fast and adjust. The RPA seeds of NSSC grew to programs – the Department of the Army Financial Information Management (DASA-FIM) RPA program and the General Services Administration (GSA).
GSA RPA Community of Practice
During this panel discussion we will deep dive into the GSA RPA program. Hear how and why the GSA decided RPA was the right solution for its internal challenges, how it retrained and reskilled existing employees, and established its Center of Excellence to drive its high returns on effort and high ROI. See one or two of their automations in action. Additionally, armed with the OPM 18-23 member and charged with co-leading the PDM-18 CAP6 goal (move employees from low value to higher-valued work), hear from the GSA RPA leadership why the Federal RPA Community of Practice was formed. Hear how these grassroots efforts have become a beacon to guide other agencies. The Federal RPA COP mentors agencies starting RPA, shares lesson learned across it ~1,500 active members, host successful private sector presentation, and is driving the automation first mindset across the Federal government. Learn from successful RPA practitioners who have the most unique view of any federal agency. Join us as we discuss with three innovative government employees who have teamed to help government become more efficient, effective and solve challenges previously too challenging to solve.
