LoudounCyber Meetup

October 5, 2021 @ 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Join us again at beautiful One Loudoun for a Meetup of the Loudoun County Cybersecurity Professionals. We’ll be meeting at Jefferson Ale House to hear remarks from Mr. William (Bill) Kirkendale, Loudoun resident and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA) for the District of Columbia. (CSOSA is an independent Executive Branch federal agency.) Bill will be discussing the challenges and strategies of a small agency regarding overall security, and particularly in (a) meeting the rapidly evolving and more specific and directed FISMA requirements, (b) managing the onslaught of directives from DHS, OMB, (c) keeping up with mitigation/remediation of zero day threats (ransomware, patches – e.g., MS, Apple), and (d) balancing availability and security with an outsourced SOC, increasing Cloud services, etc.

As usual, we’ll make time for networking and discussion of issues affecting the dynamic cybersecurity community here in Loudoun County, Virginia.
Cash bar is available, and special thanks to ATARC for sponsoring hors d’oeuvres for the evening. We hope to see you there!!
