Panel: How a Small Government Agency Exponentially Scaled Overnight to Deliver the Nation’s Largest Ever Economic Recovery Initiative
Panelists discuss major efforts undertaken within the last year to handle the significant scaling of SBA’s operations in response to the Nation’s Economic Recovery Initiative – Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EDIL) and Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) programs. The President declared COVID-19 as a National Disaster on March 13th, 2020 and SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA) went into high-gear immediately. The CARES Act was enacted on March 27th, 2020 which set in motion the PPP program. To respond to the overnight exponential increase in demand for economic relief for the Nation’s small business community the SBA staff size was surging up with most everyone working remotely because of the global pandemic. SBA’s leadership in IT Modernization enabled rapid scaling to address the exponential increase in the volume and velocity of transactions. Hear from key SBA Program Office leaders on the actions they undertook and the challenges they encountered in delivering EDIL and PPP programs, while keeping a strong cybersecurity posture.

In this TechTalk, you’ll learn:
- How data virtualization’s multi-location architecture can simplify and accelerate cloud migration.
- How to leverage Denodo’s virtual data services layer to address and augment cloud solutions such as data warehouse modernization, data science, and data lakes in the cloud.
