Cloud and Infrastructure Mission Area

Leadership Team

The ATARC Cloud and Infrastructure Pillar is a technical group of government, academia and private industry thought leaders collaborating on topics related to the Federal cloud & infrastructure community. The group’s goal is to pinpoint and hone in on various obstacles and challenges in cloud solution deployments in federal agencies. Then, in close alignment with government policies on data security, such as the Federal Cloud Smart Strategy, FedRAMP compliance and Trusted Internet Security (TIC) 3.0 guidelines, the collective aims to provide strategic recommendations to remove the identified cloud barriers, accelerate emerging cloud technology adoption, and increase efficiency and reduce cost using cloud smart and cutting-edge infrastructure solutions.

Multicloud

The Multicloud Working Group’s mission is to share broadened definitions, understanding and best practices around ‘Multicloud’ and ‘Multicloud Operating Model’ in today’s multicloud ecosystem. This enables public sector organizations to understand and contend with the Day 2 operational complexities of the multicloud operating model they will encounter as they adopt and scale application, data, user experience, IT and security operations models in multicloud context.

Secure 5G

The mission of the Secure 5G Working Group is to advance communication between Government, industry, and academia, through identifying Secure 5G infrastructure and policies.

5G is opening the door to many emerging technologies that will be game-changing for the Government. Ultimately, agencies want to achieve the many benefits of fast and reliable 5G while operating through trusted networks.  Securing 5G involves addressing threats to infrastructure, supply chain, and networks, while also standardizing policies and environments to ensure a frictionless user experience. The Secure 5G Working Group will be poised to develop strategies and tools to help improve the security posture when it comes to 5G Technology Solutions for the Government.

Learn what Government experts at the ATARC-hosted roundtable shared about agencies moving 5G systems beyond prototyping in the coming years, and related needs to evaluate security and risks throughout the increasingly complex ecosystem of end user equipment, radio access networks, 5G core networks, and edge computing systems.
