The message is clear: annual reviews alone aren’t going to cut it. Federal agencies are reimagining how they evaluate\, develop\, and support their workforces in response to the recognition that annual performance reviews alone aren’t enough. As expectations for accountability\, engagement\, and mission delivery evolve\, agencies are empowering supervisors to lead more frequent\, meaningful feedback conversations using data-driven insights to track performance drivers. By empowering supervisors with better tools and training\, applying workforce analytics\, and encouraging open performance-based dialogue\, agencies are aiming to boost engagement\, retention\, and mission outcomes. \nThis session will bring together agency leaders and workforce experts from OPM and other federal entities to share how they plan to put these ideas into practice—what’s working\, what’s changing on the ground\, and how lessons learned can help drive a stronger\, more adaptable federal workforce. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speakers:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Samantha Adrignola\n Manager\, Strategic Consulting Program\, U.S. Office of Personnel Management \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Howard Spira\n Chief Information Officer\, Export-Import Bank of the United States \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Britta Wilhelmsen\n Strategy & Enablement Lead\, Government Sector\, BetterUp \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rudolf Rojas\n Information Technology Manager\, U.S. Department of Agriculture \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Andrew Petry\n Acting Deputy Chief Information Officer\, Office of Resource Management\, Office of the Chief Information Officer\, U.S. Department of Energy \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Moderator: Kiersten Patton\n ATARC Consultant \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Register\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Zoom for Government enables ATARC remote collaboration opportunities through its cloud platform for video and audio conferencing\, chats and webinars across all devices. SUMMARY:Unlocking Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing: The Critical Role of Systems and Architecture
DESCRIPTION:  Presents\nUnlocking Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing: The Critical Role of Systems and Architecture\nJune 3\, 2025    |    1:30 – 2:00 PM ET\n \n Register\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n June 3\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Swamit Tannu\n Assistant Professor\, at University of Wisconsin-Madison \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Quantum computing has the potential to unlock new computational capabilities by enabling fault-tolerant systems. However\, building a scalable\, error-corrected quantum computer is not just a “quantum” problem—it presents significant systems and architectural challenges. Addressing these challenges early and from a broad perspective is essential for progress. In this talk\, I will focus on two critical issues that shape the path toward fault-tolerant quantum computing. First\, role system architecture in improving the fidelity of logical qubits. Second\, there is a need for specialized compilation frameworks to support the constraints and requirements of early fault-tolerant quantum systems. By tackling these challenges\, we can move closer to realizing scalable quantum computing. \nSwamit Tannu is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Sciences department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison\, where he leads the QUEST Research Group. His research focuses on developing architectural and systems abstractions for quantum computers to enable scientific discovery at scale. Swamit’s work has been recognized with the NSF CAREER Award\, the Stamatis Vassiliadis Best Paper Award at Computing Frontiers\, and also been inducted into the MICRO Hall of Fame.  Swamit earned his Ph.D. from Georgia Tech in 2020 before joining the University of Wisconsin-Madison. \nOpen Q&A discussion.
