The mission of the CQT is to collaborate with industry and government stakeholders to identify compelling needs and challenges in quantum technologies\, and then develop novel solutions to address these opportunities. Quantum technologies are governed by the physics of sub-atomic particles and have relevance to computing\, sensing\, imaging\, metrology\, communications\, and cryptography. Because of their wide-ranging applicability\, quantum technologies promise to be transformative\, with uses in intelligence\, financial security\, computing\, medicine\, and navigation. Society has entered the second quantum revolution\, but it is still in its infancy\, and the nascent quantum industry requires significant fundamental research to mature novel technologies. In partnership with industrial and government members\, the CQT researchers will use their expertise in quantum science and engineering to develop and transfer foundational knowledge into industry-friendly quantum devices\, systems\, and algorithms with enhanced functionality and performance. Additionally\, the CQT will help train the next generation of quantum scientists and engineers to support the development of a critically needed quantum workforce. Students not only conduct research\, but also help writing project reports\, present at biannual meetings\, and interact with industry and government members. This talk will give an overview of the IUCRC model along with the CQT mission\, vision and research themes. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speaker:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Dr. David J. How will this affect 8 billion mobile devices\, 1000 mobile networks as we plan for migration to 6G. The GSMA Post Quantum Telco Network Task Force (PQTN) was co-founded in 2023 by GSMA\, IBM and Vodafone and now has 60+ members. Where is cryptography used in telecom networks? What telco and network standards need updating? How are regulators and industry sectors responding to PQC migration? How can telecom operators play a role in securing national infrastructure? What lessons can other industry sectors learn from telecom and financial services? \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speaker:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Zygmunt Łoziński\n Quantum Safe Networks\, IBM \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Zygmunt’s mission is to make the world’s networks quantum safe. \nHe is one of the co-founders of the GSMA Post-Quantum Telco Network Task Force. PQTN works on the impact of Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) in telecom and he is editor for its publications. He works with government and industry globally on PQC migration and guidance. He also researches the applications of quantum computing for telecom and national security. \nZygmunt frequently speaks about Quantum Risk and Post-Quantum Cryptography at international conferences: ETIS IQC Quantum Safe Cryptography\, GSMA Mobile World Congress\, PKI-C Post-Quantum Cryptography\, ETSI Security and IET Cyber Security. \nPreviously as IBM’s Telecom Industry Technical Leader he helped to prototype and develop many of the technologies that are now part of 5G: Edge (MEC)\, Telco Network Cloud (NFV)\, Orchestration and Open APIs. \nZygmunt was educated at Imperial College London\, is a Member of the IEEE and holds over 30 patents in computing and telecom. \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Register\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Zoom for Government enables ATARC remote collaboration opportunities through its cloud platform for video and audio conferencing\, chats and webinars across all devices.
