SUMMARY:Unlocking Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing: The Critical Role of Systems and Architecture

However\, building a scalable\, error-corrected quantum computer is not just a “quantum” problem—it presents significant systems and architectural challenges. Addressing these challenges early and from a broad perspective is essential for progress. In this talk\, I will focus on two critical issues that shape the path toward fault-tolerant quantum computing. First\, role system architecture in improving the fidelity of logical qubits. Second\, there is a need for specialized compilation frameworks to support the constraints and requirements of early fault-tolerant quantum systems. By tackling these challenges\, we can move closer to realizing scalable quantum computing. \nSwamit Tannu is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Sciences department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison\, where he leads the QUEST Research Group. His research focuses on developing architectural and systems abstractions for quantum computers to enable scientific discovery at scale. Swamit’s work has been recognized with the NSF CAREER Award\, the Stamatis Vassiliadis Best Paper Award at Computing Frontiers\, and also been inducted into the MICRO Hall of Fame.  Swamit earned his Ph.D. from Georgia Tech in 2020 before joining the University of Wisconsin-Madison. \nOpen Q&A discussion. Will be recorded. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n View On-Demand\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Zoom for Government enables ATARC remote collaboration opportunities through its cloud platform for video and audio conferencing\, chats and webinars across all devices. The use of “shadow IT\,” software that hasn’t been approved by IT\, further increases the risk of data leaks and policy violations at a time when IT teams and resources are stretched thin. With the shift from “Secure by Design” to “Secure by Demand\,” trusting software development alone is insufficient. \nJoin ATARC and a panel of cybersecurity experts to explore emerging mobile app threats\, dissect real-world security vulnerabilities\, and discuss proactive\, practical strategies to defend your organization against mobile app risks. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speakers:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Steve Pitcher\n Senior Cyber Survivability Analyst\, U.S. Department of Defense \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n George Nicol\n Deputy Program Director\, National Aeronautics and Space Administration \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Landon Shaw\n Senior Enterprise Architect\, Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Marc Wason\n Enterprise Mobile Computing Officer\, U.S. Marine Corps \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rudolf Rojas\n Information Technology Manager\, U.S. Department of Agriculture \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Chris Gogoel\n Vice President & GM Public Sector\, Quokka \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Moderator: Kiersten Patton\n ATARC Consultant \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Zoom for Government enables ATARC remote collaboration opportunities through its cloud platform for video and audio conferencing\, chats and webinars across all devices.
