A dynamic IT leader, business developer, consultant, project manager, subject matter expert and organizational change agent, Darryl E. Peek II is a Senior Manager, Strategy & Business Development at Salesforce.
Prior to Salesforce, Darryl held a variety of positions with U.S. Department of Homeland Security including Director of Operations in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO). He was responsible for the OCTO’s strategic planning, human capital, financial operations, communications, and portfolio management. In addition, he was the OCTO lead for the Software Acquisitions Transformation (Agile) Pilots, which involves streamlining the acquisitions lifecycle for IT programs within TSA, FEMA, USCIS and ICE; as well as, lead for the Network 2.0 initiative with the OneNet Team to assist in modernizing the DHS network infrastructure.
He joined OCIO/OCTO from the DHS National Protections and Programs Directorate (NPPD) Office of Cybersecurity and Communications’ (CS&C) Federal Network Resilience (FNR) Division. He was responsible for improving efficiency of IT security operations by developing solutions which meet business objectives in addition to the implementation of quality strategies. His knowledge of federal government and industry standards along with legislation which includes EOs, FISMA and OMB IT and cybersecurity related memorandums makes him a formidable authority in various technology topic areas. Over the course of his career, he has established a diverse professional background in information technology, including acquisitions, strategy, systems development, systems testing, systems integration, operations, data analysis, cybersecurity and management in both private and public sector organizations.
During his career, Darryl has helped a previous organization achieve Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Levels 3-5 for Development Appraisals, International Standards Organization (ISO) 9000 Quality Management Systems, 20000 IT Service Management, and 27001 Security Operations certifications.
Darryl earned his B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a Masters in Systems Engineering from Penn State University. He is an award-winning speaker through Toastmasters International Organization and regularly presents on topics such as organizational change, IT, cybersecurity, and personal achievement. Darryl currently resides in Clarksburg, MD with his wife and two children.
