Quantum is viewed as a strategic technology by many countries around the world that see it as a key to a prosperous future. Although some people think the competition is only between the U.S. and China, many other countries, particularly those in Europe, are also vying to become the leader. This presentation will provide an overview of some of the international collaborations, sovereign investments, and technical initiatives that are underway outside the U.S. as each country tries to strengthen its position in quantum tech and become a dominant factor within the global quantum ecosystem.

Doug Finke is the Chief Content Officer of Global Quantum Intelligence (GQI) and the Managing Editor of the Quantum Computing Report by GQI, which he founded in 2015 as the first news and analysis website dedicated to quantum technology. He holds degrees in computer engineering and management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and MIT, respectively, and holds eight patents in the field of computer technology.
