Ian Anderson
Lead DevSecOps Engineer, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC)
Ian D. Anderson is currently a Lead DevSecOps Engineer with Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren at the Dam Neck Activity. He works on the Innovation Team under the Training and Readiness Branch. He started his career at Dam Neck Activity (DNA) working on Artificial Intelligence applications and development, specifically in the Semantic Reasoning. In this field, he worked alongside SRI International to help transition Government Purpose Rights Technology from previous DARPA efforts into new government applications. Starting in 2019, he transitioned into the position of Lead DevSecOps Engineer for all projects which the DNA Innovation Team currently support. In this role he has continually partnered with industry and academia (Huntington Ingalls Industries, Virginia Modelling and Simulation Center (VMASC), SRI International) to help bring best practices and new technology to the entire Warfare Center in support of their current digital transformation efforts. These efforts include NSWC Dahlgren’s Hybrid Cloud Initiative, Software Factory Foundations, and Next Generation Workforce Effort. He has helped formulate policy, processes, and training for NSWC Dahlgren to aim their efforts towards a collaborative DevSecOps environment across all departments at the Warfare Center. He is a graduate of Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia with a degree in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Outside of work he volunteers his time as an Alumni Advisor and Mentor at Christopher Newport University along with volunteering at various museums throughout the East Coast by supporting living history events and educational classes.
