Tim Harvey

Content & Engagement Director

A 20-year veteran of the Federal IT and communications industries, Tim Harvey serves as Content & Engagement Director for the Advanced Technology Academic Research Center (ATARC).

He is responsible for the program content for all ATARC events, as well as the organization’s Web and social media platforms.

Prior to joining ATARC, Tim served in capture, proposal, operations and business development roles at a variety of companies in the Federal IT community. Between 2008 and 2012, he was a part of a team that designed, installed, provisioned and maintained diverse fiber routes into military bases across the United States.

Tim began his professional career with USA Today where he held a variety of editorial jobs including Hockey Editor of usatoday.com. He had over two dozen USA Today bylines including a co-authored story on the front page of the newspaper. In 1999, he wrote the first sports blog for usatoday.com and under his leadership between 1997 and 2001, the online hockey section broke multiple NHL stories, had more page views than the NBA section, and was widely-read and respected in professional hockey circles.
