Curtis Chappell is VP of Security for Thales Defense & Security, Inc. headquartered in the Washington, DC metro area.  Thales Defense, operating under a DOD Proxy Agreement since 1986, is the FOCI-mitigated U.S. subsidiary of Thales S.A., a global leader in advanced technologies including Defense & Security, Aeronautics & Space, and Digital Security domains.  Mr. Chappell has over 25 years’ experience in international business, logistics and security operations, managing complex programs with proven success, including multiple James S. Cogswell Awards and DCSA’s Award for Excellence in Counterintelligence.  Mr. Chappell is a certified Industrial Security Professional (ISP®) and Board of Directors Member for the National Classification Management Society (NCMS), the Society of Industrial Security Professionals.

Director, Department of Air Force Counter-Insider Threat Hub

John Massey has served as the Director of the Department of the Air Force Counter-Insider Threat Hub since March 2022. Prior to this, Mr. Massey served in a number of roles over a 12-year period at the Defense Counterintelligence & Security Agency (DCSA), including as Director of Operations and as DCSA’s first Director of Enterprise Security Operations, where he developed the Department of Defense Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) program, led planning for integration of the SCIF accreditation and oversight mission, and managed the strategic development of new and emerging mission sets. Mr. Massey is a graduate of the Air War College, University of Virginia, and Radford University.
