ATARC Zero Trust Proving Ground: Phase 3
Phase 3 Tracks
ATARC’s Zero Trust Working Group is developing use cases for these tracks and will be officially released over the next few months. Vendors, integrators, or vendor/integrator teams will demonstrate real-time solutions in front of a government audience to the track of their choice. Each track will feature 3 mandatory use cases, plus an additional 2-4 use cases that the presenters will need to develop. Phase 3 of the proving ground aims to address gaps identified from Phases 1 and 2, while also offering the opportunity to focus on detailed specialties.
If you are interested in joining a team to develop the use cases, please email workinggroups@atarc.org

The ATARC Zero Trust Proving Ground originated as a visionary concept from our Zero Trust Working Group, whose members are dedicated to exploring innovative strategies for improving security, risk management, and governance in the digital landscape. These thought leaders identified a critical need for a collaborative, hands-on environment where cutting-edge solutions could be tested and validated.
Through a unique partnership between government and industry, the ATARC Zero Trust Proving Ground was established to meet this need. The ZTPG serves as a hub where technical architectures, along with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) hardware and software, can be brought together to address the complex Zero Trust use cases outlined by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
The Proving Ground supports the development and evaluation of proofs of concept for integrated security solution sets, combining products from multiple vendors to implement the core principles of Zero Trust. This collaborative space enables both public and private sector entities to work together in deploying real-world security solutions that are not only scalable but also align with federal security mandates.

AI Track
Zero Trust AI Track – Focus on the methods AI (automation or generative) could enhance cybersecurity from an explicit trust versus implicit trust perspective. Example areas could include AI use in decision tree analysis with action, intelligence aggregation from data sources, labor time reduction of monitoring to generated outcomes, or providing forecasting of risks/issues associated with security architecture and operations.

Training Track
In our Phase Three Proving Ground series, we are excited to introduce our first ‘people-focused’ proving ground. This proving ground addresses the critical need to train and educate our workforce on transitioning from a net-centric approach to cybersecurity—where the cyber team was solely responsible, similar to building security—to a data-focused approach. The goal of this proving ground is to assist government members in understanding workforce training opportunities and highlighting the pivotal role people play in securing all types of data within a zero-trust environment.

Mobility Track
The Mobility track in the Zero Trust Proving Ground will focus on applying Zero Trust security principles to mobile devices and environments, ensuring devices, data, and communications can be kept secure against new and evolving threats. Through demonstrations, participants will show how different solutions can work together to ensure safe access and protect sensitive information on mobile platforms, helping organizations stay secure and compliant.

Multicloud Track
Federal Organizations operate both as hybrid and multi-cloud, creating challenges for transitioning to a Zero Trust Architecture. Our partners in industry and the federal marketplace need to be ready to support this environment.
