Michael Vogel has over 30 years of progressively responsible and highly successful experience leading government and commercial business development, information technology management, technology development, and health initiatives. His outstanding customer relationship management, partner development, and team building skills coupled with his strong technical background has enabled a track record of success in leading technology-oriented development, operations and sales initiatives.
Michael serves as the Strategic Accounts Development Executive at Kforce Government Solutions, Inc. (KGS) in Fairfax, Virginia where he leads KGS’ Department of Veterans Affairs Account Management. He is an accomplished solutions and results-oriented professional, recognized for consistent excellence and ability to take on and complete innovative, challenging assignments that directly impact business operations and customer mission.
His experience includes business acquisition and strategic account development, program management and project leadership, mission needs determination and definition, systems engineering, test and evaluation, enterprise software and web development, implementation and operations. Coupled with an MIS degree and a track record of success in leading technology oriented development, operations and sales initiatives, Michael has been acknowledged for driving multi million-dollar annual revenue growth, and recognized as key contributor on numerous large contract awards.
Michael has received numerous awards in recognition of his performance, leadership, and contributions in information technology, both in the federal arena and private sector. Most notably, he was honored with a 2017 FedHealthIT100, Federal 100, and Vice President Gore Hammer Award. Through his active support to industry and government professional associations Michael is an ACT-IAC Fellow (Partners Class of 2002), and has received the ACT/IAC Outstanding Contributor Award, the TechAmerica Dedicated Service Award, and served for the past 8 years as the PSC (formerly TechAmerica) Vision Conference Veteran Affairs Study Team Lead. He also served as an active member of Microsoft’s National Knowledge Management Partner Advisory Council between 1998-1999.
Michael has received both Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees from George Mason University, and has worked at companies that include Harris Corporation, CGI Federal, DMI, SRA International, ICF Consulting, and BDM International. During his career he has proudly supporting customers that include the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security, HHS, MHS, Commerce/NOAA, Energy, and Defense, NASA, DISA, and the Environmental Protection Agency. He actively participates in, or supported professional associations that include the Professional Services Council (PSC), ACT-IAC, AFCEA NCR/Bethesda, and GITEC.
He lives in Oak Hill Virginia, is happily married to a beautiful wife (Joan), has two sons (Daniel – University of Delaware) and Matthew – Penn State University), a wonderful step daughter (Carmen – Skidmore College), and an 12-year-old Labradoodle. He enjoys playing both electric Bass and 6-string guitar with his sons and former band members from time-to-time.
